We work across various industries globally and are actively looking for a proficient Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our team in Montreal, Canada. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guaranteeing compliance with local and international regulations, implementing robust health and safety measures, and fostering a safety-centric culture within our organization. The successful candidate will receive direct support from and report to the Regional Manager of ASafe Global.
Your Role :
- Establish and maintain HSE programs, procedures, and policies for regulatory compliance, conducting routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and providing mitigation recommendations for workplace hazards.
- Offer expert advice to management and employees, collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a safe work environment, and deliver training programs to enhance HSE awareness and procedures.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, identify root causes, and develop preventive action plans, while monitoring HSE performance metrics, preparing reports, and presenting findings to management.
- Stay current with relevant HSE regulations and industry standards and ensure timely compliance with any changes.
- Perform regular audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate records / documentation related to HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and permits.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans, conduct drills to evaluate effectiveness, and actively participate in HSE committees, engaging with regulatory agencies as necessary.
What you'll need to succeed :
A strong construction background is essential, along with a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field; a minimum of 7 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably within the Construction, Oil & Gas, or Data Centre industry.Must be based in Montreal and possess bilingual proficiency in both English and French.Strong operations experience, knowledge in LSST, SST, and NESST, and a proven track record in implementing EHS programs are advantageous, coupled with in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, conducting thorough incident investigations, maintaining accurate EHS records with strong organizational skills, and proficiency in using MS Office and systems for data management and reporting are essential attributes.Certified Safety Professional, ISO, CHST, OSHA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.Benefits :
