OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a Regional Director - Geotechnical Engineer (Western Canada). Successful candidate will work closely with our Vertex offices throughout Western Canada and will be responsible for the technical execution of geotechnical projects. The candidate will report to the Director Engineering.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Geological or Civil Engineering. A masters degree is considered an asset.
• 6 to 10 years of professional work experience in the field of geotechnical engineering local Canadian experience is strongly preferred.
• . designation in good standing with APEGA is required.
• Experience in the use of commercially available software packages such as Slope / W GINT Plaxis Uni-Settle L-Pile A-Pile as well as familiarity with ArcGIS AutoCAD Google Earth and Microsoft products is required.
• Experience with field investigation techniques such as soil logging (auger drilling sonic drilling etc.).
• Experience in developing client relationships and business development to expand business in the geotechnical field is required.
• Experience growing a consulting business and managing a consulting P&L is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with spoken and written English language is required.
• Strong organizational interpersonal leadership and communication skills.
• Valid class 5 drivers license.
