Our client is a dynamic Real Estate Development company known for its commitment to creating vibrant and sustainable communities.

They are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Development Manager to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects in remote and indigenous communities.

The Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction-focused project management. This involves coordinating with stakeholders, managing project timelines, and ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management and be passionate about working in diverse settings, including remote and indigenous areas.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Develop detailed project schedules and budgets, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks, taking corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Establish clear and effective communication channels among clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare, review, and handle contract documents, including CCDC and RAIC, to ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Oversee the work of third-party contractors, consultants, and sub-consultants, ensuring they meet quality standards and deliver on their assigned scopes.
  • Lead monthly progress meetings and document outcomes. Use project management software tools for efficient reporting and escalate issues to the Managing Director when necessary.
  • Support corporate growth initiatives and promote a positive, collaborative team environment aligned with the company's core values.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in construction, design, or project management consulting.
  • Proficiency in project planning, management, and multitasking, with strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documents and presentations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage time effectively and thrive under pressure.
  • Experience in drafting project proposals, creating budgets, developing schedules, and reviewing contractor quotations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site technical assistance within British Columbia and work in remote and indigenous communities.
