As a Sommelier Tour Guide specializing in the Nova Scotia wine region, you will lead visitors through immersive experiences in this unique and burgeoning wine destination.

Your role will encompass sharing the rich history, distinct terroir, and exceptional wines produced in Nova Scotia, offering guests a comprehensive and memorable exploration of the local wine scene.

ResponsibilitiesConduct Guided Tours : Working in tandem with your bus driver, lead groups of visitors through picturesque vineyards, boutique wineries, and charming wine cellars nestled in the scenic landscapes of Nova Scotia, showcasing the diversity and quality of the region's wines.

Education and Storytelling : Provide captivating narratives about Nova Scotia's winemaking heritage, from the pioneering efforts of early settlers to the innovative techniques employed by today's vintners, enriching the tour experience with insights into local grape varieties, viticultural practices, Nova Scotia and its rich heritage and history.

Customer Service : Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering informative and engaging tours, addressing guest inquiries, and fostering a welcoming and hospitable environment that reflects the warmth and hospitality of Nova Scotia.

Safety and Compliance : Maintain strict adherence to all health, safety, and alcohol regulations, ensuring the well-being of guests and staff during tours and tastings, and promptly addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

QualificationsCertified Sommelier : Hold certification from a recognized sommelier program, demonstrating expertise in wine tasting, varietals, regions, and service techniques.

Local Wine Knowledge : Possess comprehensive knowledge of Nova Scotia's wine industry, including key producers, grape varieties, growing regions, and emerging trends, with a passion for sharing this knowledge with others.

Communication Skills : Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and educate guests of all backgrounds, adapting your delivery to suit the preferences and interests of each audience.

Customer Focus : Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests, with a friendly and approachable demeanor that fosters positive interactions and lasting connections.

Flexibility : Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the needs of guests and the demands of seasonal tourism in Nova Scotia's wine region.

Physical Stamina : Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, as tours may involve outdoor exploration and traversing vineyard terrain.
