Mining Engineer or Geoscience Co-Op / Intern

A Mining Engineer or Geoscience Co-Op / Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to assist with special project design, execution, and management.

Mosaic Potash Esterhazy K3 is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton and one of the world’s most competitive underground potash mines in the world.

Full time Co-Op / Internship. Typically,36-40 hrs a week on site.

What will you do?

Day to day duties will include :

Develop, evaluate and formulate solutions in projects focused on improving the quality of mining processes.

Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors

Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment

Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What do you need for this role?

Second year or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mining, Geological Engineering or Geoscience

70% GPA or higher

1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student / school organizations, or work is required

Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and / or office.

Basic computer skills are required

Experience working in a team environment is a must

Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
