This Opportunity :
Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join their Business Solutions team in Toronto. The successful candidate will provide support to the organization by designing business application solutions, assisting the business in identifying and resolving business problems and conducting research.

Key responsibilities :
- Develop detailed requirements for application solutions
- Document functional and technical solutions, test artifacts, service introduction and communication / change management plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers for application development including generating requirements, screen mock-ups and data mapping
- Work with business partners to identify problems and opportunities and investigate and implement solutions to support the business strategy
- Research and recommend solutions to enable additional business capabilities
- Generate ad-hoc reports to support business decisions and business intelligence
- Support IT services related to the portfolio of assigned technology applications and services
- Assist with testing and operational readiness for various initiatives
- Provide support for process analysis, define best practices and strive for continuous improvement
Requirements
Knowledge, skills, and experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an analyst in the insurance or equivalent financial services field
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid oral and written communication skills and ability to identify, convey and document business requirements and technical needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to document procedures and / or user guides for new tools
- Demonstrated understanding of Application Life Cycle management principles including service, release and change management.
- Understanding of and adherence to standard change management procedures for business applications and the ability to perform risk assessments and define appropriate controls
- Ability to facilitate the identification of business problems, objectives, etc. and define process and / or technology solutions
- Ability to understand business architecture across business applications and prepare logical designs including developing business cases and a cost benefit analysis
- Broad understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations is ideal.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
- Proficient in SQL query language for ad-hoc reporting
- Dynamics 365 and / or Filemaker experience is a nice-to-have

Requirements
Completion of university degree in related discipline. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of project management experience.
