Overview
Health Quality BC provides system-wide leadership to efforts designed to improve the quality of health care in British Columbia. Through collaborative partnerships with health authorities, patients, and those working within the health care system, we promote and inform a provincially-coordinated, patient-centred approach to quality.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Learning & Analytics, the Health Data Analyst is responsible for performing statistical analysis and generating meaningful visual displays of health care data. This includes receiving data from a variety of sources and analyzing and preparing reports for presentation to diverse audiences. Working in partnership with the Health Quality BC’s quality and clinical leads, the Health Data Analyst will be looked to as an expert in measurement and analysis to support the effective use of data in improvement, research and evaluation.

Qualifications
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in health informatics, math, statistics, business or health administration, or a related program, plus three (3) years recent related experience. Experience with statistical analysis and quality improvement is preferred, along with a working knowledge of health care data sources and relevant privacy legislation. Proficiency with a variety of software tools is essential, including Microsoft Office, database software and SPSS or equivalent. Experience with Statistical Process Control techniques is an asset.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytic capability and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple demands and pressures while producing high quality work. Problem solving, curiosity and self-motivation are essential. Working with a diverse team and external partners, the Health Data Analyst will need to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with tact and diplomacy.
