Licensed Trailer Mechanic (Levels 2 - Level 4)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician ( 3rd or 4th year) is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of company equipment, while being cognizant of schedules and deadlines. This role works closely with the Shop Supervisor and assists in training and mentoring Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing on company trailers and associated equipment.
• Work with the Journeyperson HET’s and Shop Supervisor to provide accurate estimates on timelines and costs.
• Inspect completed work carefully and coordinate with the Shop Supervisor to ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Work closely and strategically with the Supervisor on timelines and demands to ensure that organizational goals are met or exceeded.
• Maintain the shop in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating respect, professionalism, and cooperation.
• Safely operate company units in varying and adverse road conditions.
• Travel to remote or field locations to conduct on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and training to remain compliant with regulatory and company requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, shop organization projects, and process updates.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
