Legal Assistant
Caron & Partners LLP is a mid-sized Calgary law firm dedicated to providing clients with quality legal services and strategic counselling for over 55 years.
We provide a broad range of legal services in a variety of practice areas.
Our Firm is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team.
Duties will include but not be limited to :
- Residential real estate transactions drafting and full process of legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale, and refinance from opening to closing file,
- Provide support for commercial real estate transactions drafting and full process of legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale, and refinance from opening to closing file,
- Review purchase and sale contracts, builders contracts, financing documents, leases and Land Titles documents,
- Provide support for acquisitions and sales of commercial properties, condominium developments, financing transactions and land development,
- Carry out title and off-title due diligence searches on commercial properties and review reports,
- Provide support for commercial lending transactions,
- Preparing contracts and closing documents,
- Prepare legal documents, letters, memos and other documents as required according to general precedents and instructions from supervising lawyers,
- Processing invoices and follow up with collection.
Skills and Experience Required :
- Legal Assistant certification from an accredited institution,
- 6-8 years of experience with residential and commercial real estate transactions,
- Bank and private lending background,
- Experience in wills and estates and corporate is an asset,
- CosmoLex experience is an asset,
- PPR certification is an asset,
- Experience with Unity is an asset,
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
- Excellent communication skills interacting with clients by telephone and in person,
- Full knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook,
- Word Perfect experience is an asset,
- Excellent written communication skills.
Salary : commensurate with experience
