Overview
Description We are seeking a dedicated Facility Technician to ensure smooth operations on the tarmac in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will work with the Station Manager to perform daily and preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment related to fuel storage and distribution systems and operations. Adhere to standards, policies, and procedures to support staff by following established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical work involving dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabrication, assembling, testing, welding, cleaning and painting related to plant equipment and facilities, pipelines, filtration systems, pumps, motors, valves, equipment, tanks, buildings, HVAC systems, electrical equipment, instrumentation, computer systems, communications systems, hydrant fuel distribution systems, equipment and facilities.
- Perform periodic maintenance and inspections on equipment and facilities, including metering and gauging equipment and company vehicles.
- Service equipment with fuel, water, greases, oil, hydraulic fluid, nitrogen and compressed air.
- Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and modify fuel storage facilities and equipment, including pipeline issues, switch gear, and lighting.
- Diagnose problems using test equipment and manuals. Remove, test, repair or replace components such as temperature / pressure transmitters, pressure relief valves, valves, pumps, tank gauge systems, filtration system components, fuses and other fuel facility components.
- Check and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, shafts and mechanical seals.
- Replace bearings, mechanical seals, valves, bushings, shafts, springs, fuses, coils, tubing, pumps diaphragms, hoses and wiring as required.
- Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and plans of electrical and mechanical nature.
- Maintain records relating to maintenance on all fuel facility equipment, facilities and components.
- Provide on-the-job training and instruction to new employees.
- Support Fuel Farm Operators and assist with their duties when required.
- Oversee contractors performing construction or maintenance activities on all fuel facility buildings and equipment.
- Follow the company safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with the company’s and station’s attendance and tardiness policy.
Qualifications And Experience
One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and legally able to work in Canada.Must be able to pass and maintain all required security clearances including background checks as required by the Airport and Transport Canada.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations. Ability to work different shifts, weekends and holidays as required.Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.Must have a valid Provincial Driver's license in good standing and be able to obtain and maintain a valid DA / AVOP.Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds.Comply with Menzies Uniform Policy.Aviation industry experience is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
