What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role :

Responsible for implementing carrier sourcing strategy including identifying requirements and securing appropriate capacity and coverage for Logistics multi-year needs (in partnership with Operations and GS&P), with accountability for 12-18 month view.

Creates sustainable partnerships with focus on the strategic relationships with carrier / 3PL / partners and providers; also develops and maintains a governance framework and controls for all Logistics contracts to ensure compliance with contracted requirements

  • Provides leadership and input to sourcing strategies, plans and roadmaps in partnership with Operations and GS&P to define schedule, cadence and freight carrier sourcing events to ensure appropriate implementation of identified coverage strategies
  • Responsible for negotiating contract amendments to support new ventures and / or adjustments to existing services, setting clear direction for consistency across all contract attributes and language for Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Ocean contractual agreements
  • Oversees the development of specific business plans, including negotiations, execution, contracts, contingency planning, reporting, monitoring, and budget management as part of sourcing strategy and implementation
  • Develops and oversees implementation of a Logistics Provider Segmentation Strategy which includes building a clearinghouse of contract attributes, Logistic Provider attributes / capabilities, demographics / geographies, and several other characteristics in order to track the evolving landscape of providers
  • Leads TJX Logistics Provider quarterly business review content and cadence, makes business and strategic relationship decisions
  • Oversees related Logistics SOX compliance requirements including Narratives and audits in order to stay compliant
  • Collaborates with Logistics leadership to define KPIs, develops reporting strategy; guides the design of performance reports and dashboards
  • Serves as an escalation point for driving performance improvement plans with Truckload and Intermodal Logistics Providers with chronic and repetitive issues that are unresolved by direct reports
  • Responsible for setting and executing on the talent strategy to ensure a pipeline of functional capability with a diversified talent pool to fill key positions that support current and future needs of department;

participate on talent development discussions and talent review calibrations

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following :

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in all modes of transportation either in operations and or a sourcing capacity
  • At least five (5) years of contract negotiation and management experience
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior leaders and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company.
  • Detailed understanding of Fuel programs for all modes of transportation
  • Working knowledge of transportation contracts and relevant terms and conditions of Carrier contracts
  • Problem solving skills including identifying and resolving problems related to Transportation information and reports and following up with appropriate people and departments ( delays, inaccuracies, etc.).
  • Advanced Influencing skills, ability to influence others to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to deal with multiple and varied complex issues, combined with analytical skills and experience to resolve
  • Communication skills including written (reports, analyses, etc.), and verbal (communicating regularly with various departments, carriers, etc.)

Salary Range : $106,590 - $161,364* / year

This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
