Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the General Manager of Corporate Services and Public Safety is accountable for the overall direction and management of the Corporate Services and Public Safety Division. As a member of the senior management team, this role assists in creating and implementing strategic direction for the entire organization.
The Corporate Services and Public Safety Division provides Council, residents, taxpayers, visitors and the Municipality with leadership and resources in the corporate services areas of financial services, information technology, and legislative services; and in the public safety services of fire, bylaw, emergency management, fire smart and RCMP and provides business resources and support for large cross‑divisional initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of senior executive experience in a public sector or large private organization, with a proven record of leading large teams with diverse functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline; a graduate degree is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a public sector advisory capacity to lead business transformation initiatives and business process change; experience in economic planning or community development.
- Experience managing significant budgets including business analysis and reporting; advanced facilitation, collaboration skills; and a proven record of stakeholder engagement and coordination.
- Strong commitment to promoting a diverse and equitable workplace and contributing to a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the Division in strategic planning, corporate initiatives, and delivery of division related objectives within the Corporate Plan and Official Community Plan.Directly report to the Chief Financial Officer, Fire Chief, Manager of Legislative Services, Manager of Protective Services, Manager of IT, Corporate Services Administrative Coordinator, and work with the Officer in Charge and Staff Sergeant, RCMP Sea to Sky Detachment to manage the RMOW’s RCMP contract and associated policing activities.Collaborate with community, resort and other partners to facilitate and promote the economic success of the resort community and further an attractive investment climate.Shift between operations and strategy, provide clear direction, inspire confidence in others, motivate and garner respect and can build trusted relationships and draw people together around common goals.Benefits
