Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the General Manager of Corporate Services and Public Safety is accountable for the overall direction and management of the Corporate Services and Public Safety Division. As a member of the senior management team, this role assists in creating and implementing strategic direction for the entire organization.

The Corporate Services and Public Safety Division provides Council, residents, taxpayers, visitors and the Municipality with leadership and resources in the corporate services areas of financial services, information technology, and legislative services; and in the public safety services of fire, bylaw, emergency management, fire smart and RCMP and provides business resources and support for large cross‑divisional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of senior executive experience in a public sector or large private organization, with a proven record of leading large teams with diverse functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline; a graduate degree is considered an asset.
• Experience working in a public sector advisory capacity to lead business transformation initiatives and business process change; experience in economic planning or community development.
• Experience managing significant budgets including business analysis and reporting; advanced facilitation, collaboration skills; and a proven record of stakeholder engagement and coordination.
• Strong commitment to promoting a diverse and equitable workplace and contributing to a positive team environment.
