Job Description
Microchip is currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our Communications Business Unit in Burnaby, BC, Canada. Our CBU supplies 100Gbps+ optical networking solutions for telecom and hyperscale data center networks, enabling high‑bandwidth cloud‑based applications such as streaming services, social media platforms, and video conferencing.
The CBU Product Development team engages through the full device R&D cycle from concept and design to implementation. Once a prototype is available, we support embedded software development and system validation, leading to mass‑market production release. We use advanced process technologies and the latest semiconductor development tools and methodologies to create state‑of‑the‑art network devices.
Responsibilities
From time to time we offer the opportunity for Design Engineers to perform prototype testing in a lab environment, enhancing design abilities and providing insight into system‑level operation.

Pay Range and Benefits
Annual base salary range : $76,000 - $114,000 (dependent on location, skills, and experience).
