DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY / AUTISM PROGRAM LOCATION : Clifford Bowey Public School, 1300 Kitchener Ave, Ottawa, ON K1V6W2Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, 31 Moodie Drive,Nepean, ON K2H 8G1Program Description for the Clifford Bowey Public School and Crystal BayCentre for Special Education : This program is for students who arepresently attending the Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, CliffordBowey Public School, or semi-integrated programs for students withdevelopmental disabilities.

The goal of this program is to maintain theacademic, language, communication, social and life skills of the students.Field trips, swimming outings, and excursions within the local community willbe incorporated into the program.

Roberta Bondar Public School, 159 Lorry GreenbergDrive, Ottawa, ON K1T 3J6Program Description for the Roberta Bondar Public School : This program is forstudents who are presently attending the Autism Program or Semi-IntegratedProgram for students with developmental disabilities.

The goal of this programis to maintain the academic, language, communication, social and life skills ofthe students. Field trips, swimming outings, and excursions within the localcommunity will be incorporated into the program.

HOURS OF WORK : 8 : 30 a.m. to 2 : 30 p.m. Monday to FridayNote : Hours of work may be adjusted at the discretion of the SiteAdministrator or Assistant Administrator.

SALARY : Casuals : $23.45 per hour + percentage of vacationpay Regularswill receive their current rate of payPAYMENT : Payment will be in accordance withthe Memorandum of Agreement as set out by OSSTF and the employerSTART DATE : Staff Orientation (3 hours on July 2,2024 or as advised by Site Principal)CLASSES : Wednesday, July 3, 2024 to Thursday, July 25, 2024 DEADLINE : 2 : 00 p.

m., Friday, May 10, 2024 DUTIES : Under the direction of the classroomteacher, the Educational Assistant will assist children with physical needssuch as : dressing, undressing, feeding, toileting, lifting, etc.

preparingteaching aids and devices as directed, assisting the teacher with difficultclassroom situations; and supervising class work of groups of children or individualpupils while the classroom teacher is working with other students.

Otherrelated duties may be assigned by the classroom teacher and / or SiteAdministrator.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION : Secondary SchoolGraduation Diploma along with training and experience with children withspecial needs.

The ability to work as a team member under the direction of ateacher and a high degree of patience and understanding are required.

Knowledgeand understanding of specific social / emotional and physical needs of studentswith learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilitiesor physical challenges as well as Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aidand CPR will be considered an asset.
