As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal oral health for our patients at a Soledad area Correctional Facility.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough dental cleanings, examining patients' oral health, and educating them on proper oral hygiene practices.
You will work closely with dentists to provide comprehensive dental care and assist in treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities :
Conducting routine dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
Performing dental exams to assess patients' oral health, including checking for signs of gum disease, cavities, and oral abnormalities.
Taking dental x-rays and assisting in the interpretation of results.
Administering fluoride treatments and applying dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
Educating patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene practices.
Providing individualized oral hygiene instructions tailored to patients' specific needs.
Assisting dentists during dental procedures, such as fillings, crowns, and root canals.
Documenting patient treatments and maintaining accurate dental records.
Sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
Collaborating with other members of the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications :
16 Months Experience MINIMUM
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
State licensure as a dental hygienist.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, oral anatomy, and oral health conditions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate patients effectively.
Attention to detail and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
Proficiency in using dental software for patient charting and record-keeping.
Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals.
