Position Summary

Achieve sales growth each year in a sales territory for the Ball Seed Company. Reach these goals with a customer first approach and by being your customers’ first choice based on a high level of service, product expertise, and business acumen to assist customers in meeting their long-term business goals.

Essential Functions

  • Establish a consultative relationship with customers using the resources provided by Ball Seed Company to ensure we are doing what is best for the customer in all aspects of their business.
  • Present and sell a full portfolio of products to new and existing customers to ensure we are maintaining or increasing business.
  • Prospect, qualify and contact potential customers(leads) while working with your business team to find the best way to service each customer and grow number of accounts.
  • Close sales and ensure customers’ orders are entered and needs are met to ensure we are capturing sales and responding to customer needs.
  • As an independent contractor, be able to maintain your home office and prioritize workload in an independent manner while being present with customers a high percentage of time.
  • Complete all requested sales / market analysis, account plans, market insight request, etc. on time, in full and with quality information.
  • Attend regional industry events and sales training as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture, or related field highly desired and a minimum of 3 years of sales or customer service experience in horticulture or related field preferred.
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office and related products required.
  • Highly data driven to uncover opportunities and challenges.
  • Independent contributor, highly organized with strong business acumen.

Other Qualifications

A Ball sales rep should be able to work productively and collaboratively with internal support staff allowing the rep to maximize time with customers.

In addition, Ball Seed sales reps must be solutions-driven and positive in all interactions. High achieving Ball Seed sales reps are ambitious and motivated to understand data regarding their customers and territory.

Lastly, Ball Seed sales reps should be innately curious with a desire to constantly be learning about products, processes, and customers.
