Northbound Planning is a planning and development consulting firm that provides community and regional planning for municipalities across Saskatchewan. Our team specializes in providing a full suite of services to municipalities, including planning and development, asset management, and municipal governance support. We work alongside local government and communities to create innovative solutions for unique locations.

As we expand, we are looking for an Accountant who can take ownership of our financial operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, and provide reliable financial insights that support informed decision-making. If you enjoy working in a remote-based, collaborative environment where you can have a real impact, this role may be the perfect fit. We anticipate the role will require 30‑35 hours / week. Remote-based position.

About the Role

The Accountant will manage all day‑to‑day bookkeeping, monthly and year‑end accounting functions, payroll, and financial reporting. This role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable managing full‑cycle accounting for a small business.

General Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
• Ensure all financial data is accurately entered into QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for CEO review.
• Support year‑end reporting, working papers, and external accountants as needed.
