Our Atlantic operations is currently looking for a Team Leader in the Natural Resources and Permitting market to join our team.
In this role, you would be responsible for, but not limited to :
Primary Responsibilities :
- As the team leader, you will be closely involved in the daily and weekly operations of the existing Impact Assessment team in Atlantic Canada.
- You will be responsible for overseeing the distribution of project work within the team, managing workloads as well as managing the execution of projects according to GHD standards, and providing technical oversight and mentoring to team members;
- You will implement operational practices to meet the company's performance objectives.
- You will work with the teams’ supervisors in the evaluation of personnel and the hiring of personnel;
- You will mentor supervisors in their development and that of their respective team members.
- You will be required to communicate regularly with the company's shareholder-managers and collaborate with Eastern Canada Business Group Leader on the team's operations and performance;
- Develop technical service offers, financial proposals and bids;
- Collaborate on local, regional and broader business development efforts in North America and throughout GHD;
- Participate in the development and growth of our service and business development strategies for both private and public sector clients;
- Communicate with clients and other project stakeholders;
- Manage various Impact Assessment and permitting projects across different sectors;
- Leading the Impact Assessment planning and permitting projects in Atlantic Canada in collaboration with the other regions in Canada;
- Managing the stakeholder and indigenous engagement process;
- Coordinating internal GHD environmental disciplines and external sub-consultants;
- Attending and presenting client meetings;
- Coordinating and attending public consultation events (., open houses, information sessions, meetings);
- Preparing and / or reviewing Impact Assessment and environmental discipline specific documentation.
Education and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, environmental engineering or similar scientific discipline;
- Master's degree in environment will be an asset;
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience as a scientist or engineer in the environmental field;
- Experience in environmental permitting and impact assessments;
- Strong leadership capabilities and experience working with collaborating with professionals across environmental and engineering disciplines;
- Good knowledge of government laws and regulations applicable to natural resources and associated permitting;
- Client-focused approach;
- Availability to travel occasionally to work sites or offices in urban or remote areas;
- Possess a valid driver's license and a vehicle.
