Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Human Resources Advisor will take a lead role in facilitating positive talent management and employee / labour relations outcomes for the Municipality. You will be at the forefront of fostering an inclusive and supportive environment by nurturing a culture that ensures empathy, equitable practices, proactive conflict resolution, and the highest standards of compliance with labour laws and regulations. You will be a go-to resource, providing clarity and insight into legislation, collective agreements, and policies; demonstrating a thoughtful approach when navigating through employee grievances and concerns, analyzing each with care to find resolutions that consider all involved. Your ability to facilitate open dialogue and understanding will be essential as you work to find common ground amidst differing perspectives. You'll be an advocate of knowledge, empowering your clients through leading by example, recommended training options and sharing best practices.

Based on your portfolio of internal clients, you will also lead full-cycle recruitment, working closely with other team members to ensure HR oversight and consistency within competitions. You will provide recommendations on compensation and classification requests and champion HR led employee programs and provide oversight to internal communications.

The successful candidate should enjoy managing a varied HR portfolio and have an understanding of the importance of organizational and political awareness as a public-sector HR professional. You should possess an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, or a related discipline and / or a Human Resources Management Certificate plus a minimum of five (5) years' experience in mid to senior level human resource positions. A combination of experience and education in a related field may be considered. A CPHR designation will be considered an asset.

Only candidates being considered will be required to undergo a comprehensive evaluation of skills, qualifications, and abilities. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police information check, provide a satisfactory current driver's abstract and possess and maintain a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.
