Our Western Canada Team is looking to grow and expand, offering unique opportunities to engage with high-profile clients and drive transformative initiatives across diverse industries. We’re seeking an experienced IS Operations Specialist to lead an Operating Model Assessment and Implementation for our client. This is specific to IS Operations, including management of OT-related systems. This role will focus on thoroughly understanding the current state of IS Operations and driving the design and execution of a future-ready operating model.
Must be local to CALGARY and the surrounding area, as this position involves a hybrid work arrangement with some in-office presence required.
Responsibilities
- Understanding and describing the current state of IS Operations, including organizational structure, governance, service delivery, and alignment with enterprise strategy
- Conducting targeted stakeholder interviews, documentation reviews, and process walkthroughs to capture how IS Operations works in practice, not just on paper
- Creating a clear baseline view of roles, responsibilities, processes, and technologies that define the current model
- Articulating how IS Operations delivers value in terms of speed, cost, quality, and innovation, including how these outcomes are measured
- Benchmarking our client’s IS Operations model against industry peers to identify gaps and opportunities
- Detailing potential improvements, adjustments, or alternative operating model constructs with associated risks and benefits
- Supporting the implementation of the new model by preparing RACIs, organizational charts, external sourcing strategies, and other embedding activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 6 years of experience managing Information Systems Operations, including Operational Technology (OT) systemsProven expertise in assessing and documenting operating models, organizational structure, governance, and service delivery in IS environmentsStrong experience conducting stakeholder interviews and process walkthroughs to capture operational realitiesAbility to create clear baseline views of roles, responsibilities, processes, and technologiesDemonstrated skills in benchmarking IS Operations against industry best practices and identifying gaps and improvement opportunitiesExperience developing and implementing operating models, including RACIs, organizational charts, and sourcing strategiesExcellent strategic thinking, communication, and change management skills to lead transformation initiativesExperience with OT systems in industrial or utility sectorsProject management certification such as PMPFamiliarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworksAdditional Information
