Project Engineer (HVDC and FACTS) - Mid / Senior (Remote)
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer HVDC&FACTS (Senior / Mid Level) to fulfill the functional role of an HVDC and FACTS SME and technical lead for POWER Engineers’ Power Delivery Division. The position will be based in POWER’s SCADA and Analytical Services (SAS) business unit, providing technical leadership for HVDC & FACTS technologies. This is a Remote position
At POWER, our project engineer has a thorough knowledge base, a skill set in specific disciplines (HVDC & FACTS), and broad knowledge of other disciplines. This person will serve as a technical specialist with the knowledge and expertise to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area. Typically supports multiple projects on complex technical challenges. Actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring. Develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. Many projects the Project Engineer will work on are more complex and represent a significant portion of the company's resources.
This role focuses on working on important HVDC projects worldwide, integrating renewable resources, and delivering / controlling power to designated areas. As an HVDC & FACTS SME, you will support our clients by performing front-end engineering design activities, system studies, EMT & Phasor-domain modelling, developing technical specifications, reviewing design submissions, witnessing factory acceptance tests, and supporting commissioning activities.
The position will also involve participation in business development activities and industry association technical subcommittees, writing technical papers, and preparing and presenting technical presentations. We have decades-long relationships with universities through teaching courses and participating on advisory boards, as well as ties to government research institutions for cutting-edge technology research and innovative applications.

Roles and Responsibilities
This project engineer position requires an extensive knowledge base and skill set in HVDC and FACTS technologies, as well as comprehensive knowledge of other system study disciplines. Guides project teams on both technical and project matters with a significant client interface. Produces cost estimates and project schedules and coordinates the project deliverables.
This project engineer develops and executes large, complex projects representing a significant portion of the company’s resources, including other disciplines. Other responsibilities include but may not be limited to :
