About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Instrumentation Technician will be a key member of the Maintenance team to provide instrumentation maintenance in a busy area with continuous new development.
The successful candidate will preferably reside in the Grande Prairie area.
Job Functions Will Involve :
- Environment, Health and Safety must be a priority
- Support Maintenance Foreman in delivery of professional support services to Operations
- Support and initiate safe work practices, following all Paramount policies and procedures
- Instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting of oilfield and plant control equipment (pneumatic and electronic)
- Performance of preventative maintenance, shutdowns, gas detection, metering, and controls as related to sour gas facilities, field batteries, satellites, gas and oil wells
- Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair SCADA systems, including Bristol, Fisher, Barton
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness and housekeeping
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Possess a valid Alberta Journeyman Instrumentation Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal equivalentThe right applicant with a 3rd or 4th year Apprenticeship will be considered
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related role
- Knowledge of operations (sweet and sour) in areas of plant, field, construction, pipelines or a combination thereof
- Experience with rebuild and repair of control valves, ESDs, level controls and dump valves
- Experience with SCADA installations and PLC programming would be an asset
- Strong computer skills, and experience with a CMMS (Maximo) would be an asset
- Highly motivated, able to work in a team environment
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment
- Self-starter who is able to work independently with a minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Valid safety tickets including First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, and TDG
- Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Will be required to work 7 days on & 7 days off, working 11.50-hour days. Must be willing to work overtime when required
