We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety initiatives in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proven ability to promote EHS behaviors, and experience working in a unionized setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to prevent workplace incidents and injuries.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting proactive EHS behaviors and continuous improvement initiatives across all levels of the organization.
- Influence and drive the EHS agenda by collaborating with leadership, employees, and union representatives to prioritize safety.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Track and analyze key EHS performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation in EHS management.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated experience working within unionized environments and effectively collaborating with labor representatives.Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to drive EHS culture and initiatives.Expertise in conducting hazard and risk assessments and implementing preventive safety measures.Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices .Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Education
A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred. Certifications such as CSP, CRSP, or OSHA are a plus.
