JOB SUMMARY :
The employee in this position will be required to Project Manage renovation projects for SaskPower facilities across Saskatchewan, overseeing contractors, scheduling and budgeting, manage building clean outs, furniture requisition, disposal and move coordination.
The position will work with business units across SaskPower on space needs, planning and design with accessibility, inclusion and diversity incorporated.
Also a requirement to help employees work safely with ergonomic fit ups and to ensure all applicable building and fire codes are being met.
The management of our facility drawings both in AutoCAD and Revit are necessary with knowledge of office and shop design an asset.
This position needs to work well with all levels of the organization to meet SaskPower’s facility and space needs and will support our Major and Capital projects on their drawing reviews, change management and standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Oversee and coordinate project and work processes and procedures and controls, and review, evaluate and implement new procedures, ensuring they are consistently applied
- Establish, schedule and assign work priorities, measure work process performance, develop and implement metrics, and ensure timelines are met and procedures are followed
- Facilitate the coordination of schedules, monitoring and detecting deviations from work plans
- Analyze and evaluate contracts, tenders, and work related documentation
- Develop workgroup strategies in order to sustain a high level of performance
- Conduct analyses and oversee administrative operations related to budgeting, contracting and project planning and management processes
- Develop and maintain and prioritize work plans, schedules, required to ensure efficient and effective operations, updating as required
- Develop and maintain plans and strategies for major projects
- Monitor and report on progress of work schedules, plans and projects on a continual basis
- Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence
- Maintain and update documentation related to work processes
- Recommend ongoing continuous improvements in work planning, project management and scheduling practices
- Lead safety initiatives related to work objectives and projects
- Develop and deliver informal training sessions, as required
- May supervise or provide direction to departmental and related staff
- Participate in continuous educational and professional development as required
- Other related duties, as assigned
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
- Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, or equivalent AND;
- Five (5) years of experience in the preparation, development, and implementation of building, office and furniture layouts utilizing computer assisted design software, including AutoCAD and Revit, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
- Excellent project management, time management, analytical, problem definition and problem solving skills
- Ability to use MS Office and related software applications
- Ability to organize and coordinate a number of diverse assignments among internal and external staff and contractors
NOTES :
Preference will be given to fully qualified applicants. Applicants with less than 5 years’ experience may be considered for the Planner, Facilities (In-Training) role (4901) :
- Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, or equivalent AND;
- Related Professional Designations, Certifications, Accreditations as required by the position, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
- Excellent project management, time management, analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use MS Office and related software applications
- Ability to organize and coordinate a number of diverse assignments among internal and external staff and contractors
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, as required by the position
