Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Chief Technology Officer who is eager to take on a challenging yet rewarding role in a high-growth software startup.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leading the development of high-performance production mobile apps at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of our mobile application, focusing on both frontend and backend aspects.
- Guide the development lifecycle of our mobile app, including architecture, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, with a strong emphasis on iOS and Android platforms.
- Build, test, and deploy robust backend services, prioritizing user data security, reliability, and optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with team members and external partners to continuously enhance our product's performance and user experience.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications

Here’s a snapshot of what we're seeking :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong portfolio of successful full-stack or mobile projects.
- Expertise in our tech stack : Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, Dart / Flutter, PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in developing backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, and deploying on cloud infrastructure using best practices in CI / CD.
- Demonstrated experience in working with external APIs and managing complex dependencies.
- A proven track record in maintaining high software quality, with a focus on test coverage, deployment pipelines, and effective logging.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, ownership of projects, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
Nice-to-haves
- Interest or prior experience in sports betting platforms.
- Interest or prior experience in digital payments, bitcoin, and / or Lightning Network infrastructure.
Compensation
The compensation for this role is competitive. It includes equity options and basic health benefits.
Base salary range : $120,000 - $200,000 CAD / year
Equity options range : $40,000 - $100,000 CAD / year
US employees will have their compensation adjusted based on the relative cost of talent in their region.
