Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist – 5 Axis

Our client, a cutting-edge OEM supplier, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist – 5 Axis to join their high-performance team in York Region. This role is ideal for a precision-driven professional with expertise in 5-axis machining, who thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC machines to produce complex components to tight tolerances
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to ensure accurate machining
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes and tooling
Conduct in-process inspections and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
Troubleshoot machining issues and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company standards
Support prototype development and low-volume production for new product launches
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a strong focus on 5-axis operations
Proficiency with G-code programming and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
Experience working with exotic materials and tight-tolerance parts (e.g., aerospace or automotive components)
Strong understanding of GD&T, metrology tools, and quality control procedures
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
