London Hydro is a local distribution company that services the City of London, Ontario. With more than 300 employees, London Hydro is the 6th largest electricity distribution company in Ontario and delivers a safe and reliable supply of electricity to over 166,000 customers from the residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial sectors, through over 3,070 kilometres of overhead and underground cables, spanning 420 square kilometres of service territory.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary company, London Hydro operates much like a private entity under the Ontario Business Corporations Act, paying an annual dividend to the sole shareholder, the City of London.

As a result of the announced retirement of its long-serving CEO, London Hydro is currently seeking a CEO who will be accountable for the vision and strategy of the organization, under the guidance of and with the approval of the Board.

The CEO leads and directs the Executive Committee, and with their support, is responsible for setting and achieving the organization’s safety, financial, and operational objectives to the benefit of the Shareholder, customers, and staff.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO of London Hydro is a purpose-led, customer and shareholder-centric, strategic leader committed to ensuring the long-term performance and sustainability of London Hydro.

Responsible for managing and growing the organization to meet evolving customer needs and to increase shareholder value, the incoming CEO will ensure continued excellence in the delivery of reliable, efficient, quality, and cost-effective energy to the City of London for generations to come.

The ideal candidate will bring an expert knowledge of the electricity and utility sector and experience implementing strategy and leading change.

With a proven record as an experienced senior executive, you are strategic, forward-thinking and motivated by working with and empowering a team.

As an ideal candidate, you are politically savvy without being political and have a demonstrated track record of building strong ties with community and will effectively engage and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to support London Hydro's regulatory and operational objectives.

As a leader, you have a proven record of delivering strong financial results and possess a high level of business acuity linking profitability to value creation.

The successful candidate will be aligned from a personal values perspective to deliver safe, reliable electricity and related services to the residents of London, Ontario.
