Tech 3, FSQA Technician
Aspire Bakeries is a North American baking company that specializes in specialty frozen baked goods. The FSQA Technician contributes to the team‑oriented FSQA process, protecting food by conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing, and completing required documentation to meet the Aspire Bakeries Integrated Management System Program (AIMS) requirements.
Base pay range
CA$30.00 / hr - CA$30.00 / hr
Responsibilities
- Abide by all Plant Safety, Health & Environmental policies and actively participate in safety activities.
- Perform all chemical, physical, and microbiological tests for ingredient mixes and finished products.
- Analyse bulk and finished products using a variety of techniques including pH, Viscosity, Color, Odor, and Appearance.
- Record analytical results on required reports and in electronic databases and spreadsheets.
- Record key line performance and process performance indicators into appropriate tracking mechanisms.
- Participate in operational project teams for quality improvement and / or cost reduction.
- Monitor product quality and assist in continuous improvement.
- Audit processes and help identify opportunities for improvements.
- Lead and drive completion of Root Cause Analysis.
- Understand all safe practices and systems relevant to the equipment and the safety responsibilities placed upon individuals.
- Utilise appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the task.
- Contribute to reducing costs due to product waste and minimising the impact on health, safety, and the environment through correct handling of product.
- Follow quality standards to include GMPs which encompass personal health and hygiene, HACCP, allergen control, foreign material control, and product integrity.
- Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Food Science, Microbiology or Human Ecology required.1-2 years of work experience in the food industry; bakery experience preferred.Knowledgeable in and able to train procedures, programs and systems.Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word).Our organization is committed to promoting the independence, dignity, integration, and equality of opportunity of persons with disabilities by ensuring the accessibility of our facilities and services.
