We are currently seeking the services of a Family Practice Physician to provide periodic locums at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau, NL.

This opportunity is available immediately.

Qualifications :

To be considered, candidates must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador;

the criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca)

Additionally, the successful candidate must satisfy credentialing requirements of Labrador-Grenfell Health.

Earned Medical Degree

Work experience is an asset

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance

A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Duties : (Included but not limited to)

The successful candidate will work as a part of a Team of physicians and nurses to provide high quality Primary Health Care services.

Your primary duties are to provide full scope of practice at the facility.

The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care.

Patient and Worker safety at the Labrador Health Centre is a priority; as such, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to partner with all team members by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Coverage of on call commitments, including weekends and holidays.

Salary :

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador

Incentives :

• Labrador-Grenfell Health will cover licensing fees and CMPA fees
• Labrador-Grenfell Health will cover costs of travel and meals
• Labrador-Grenfell Health will provide accommodation and local travel (rental or agency vehicle)

Hours of Work : 75 hours Bi-weekly
