Seasonal Operator - Class 1 or 3, Smithers

Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for Seasonal Operators holding a Class 1 or 3 license, who will skillfully navigate frozen roads, clearing snow and ice, along with other duties to ensure our roadways are safe for all travelers. This is a temporary, full-time position reporting to the Road Foreperson. We are currently hiring in Smithers, Carnaby, Stewart, and Meziadin, BC, and may require some travel throughout our province.

What Success Looks Like

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Work collaboratively with all team members to successfully complete tasks and keep roads and service areas safe and clean
• Ability to perform unskilled manual work requiring little previous training or experience but involving physical effort
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner
• Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities
• Maintain a daily activity log of work in progress and status of completion
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs
