- Form strategic partnerships with business units to manage financial planning and analysis while addressing strategic planning requests to support their initiatives.
- Lead budget and forecast development through engagement with internal stakeholders, challenging and reviewing operating and capital budgets.
- Manage the business planning process to ensure deliverables are met as per expectations, providing regular updates to management.
- Develop strategic communications for various stakeholder levels to engage them in the planning and analysis process.
- Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to ensure alignment in business planning and resourcing, providing updates as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, special reports, and ad hoc requests.
- Work with the Project Management Office to develop and report on capital budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to align management and statutory reporting, ensuring proper reflection of financial data.
- Provide management and executive leadership with advice, guidance, and recommendations to achieve planned objectives while managing resources and expenses.
- Implement effective reporting to track activities, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to achieve initiatives.
- Continually evaluate and enhance the quality and effectiveness of financial processes, information systems, and models for planning, budgeting, reporting, and executive information.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness in all business-related matters, providing recommendations to the Senior Manager, FP&A.
- Support financial aspects of regulatory filings, external reporting, and strategy.
Qualifications :
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or nearing completion.
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Experience improving budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Proven success in organizing and delivering cross-functional projects with defined outcomes and adherence to timelines.
- Experience working in energy / utilities / environmental industries a strong asset
- Exceptional written, communication, and presentation skills
- Undergraduate university degree in Accounting or Finance
