The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision : a Saanich where everyone belongs. Community Services Division, is seeking Program Leader I – Summer Outdoor Camps- SNPP & Youth Camps to support the delivery of outdoor and nature-based camp programs. These positions work within a team environment to provide safe, engaging, and inclusive recreational experiences for children and youth in outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

• Program Leader I – is responsible for planning, leading, and facilitating a variety of outdoor camp activities.
• Supervising participants, ensuring safety and risk management procedures are followed, supporting positive behaviour, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Assisting with program setup and takedown, communicating with participants and families, and supporting other leaders as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $24.43 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits (equivalent to $28.09 per hour).
