Assembles minor products or components with a small number of details within routine and highly repetitive assembly operations. Typically works at a workbench or on a conveyer line. Common tasks include checking sorting packaging labeling pasting sniping tying or trimming either manually or by machine. Performs basic equipment adjustments routine maintenance and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies / machines or cleaning floors. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Typical job titles include : General Labor Machine Operator Maker / Packer Assembler and Line Operator.

The normal work schedule for this role will be Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 1230 a.m however the hours of work may change as business needs dictate.

The starting rate for this role is $26.65 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.40 per hour.

Job Duties :

Follow all safety rules and procedures set by the company

Cleaning commodities such as vegetable oil asphalt / bunker Sulphur etc. from the interior and / or exterior of the rail tank cars

Remove valves and fittings from cars

Rebuilding valves and installing new / rebuilt valves and fittings on cars

Torqueing valves and fittings

Leak testing rail tank cars

Using various tools i.e. pneumatic hand electric jack hammer.

Other related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements :

Eligible to work in Canada

4th Class Power Engineer Certificate is required

Previous Helper or Labourer experience is an asset

Reliable transportation to and from work

WHMIS training and experience dealing with hazardous commodities

Detail oriented

Excellent time management skills

The ability to work well independently

Strong initiative

Mechanically inclined
