Job Description
About EBC
EBC thinks outside the box and deploys all its know-how to carry out major infrastructure projects: bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, and marine installations. Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets, along with our extensive expertise, allows us to play an active role in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), and the Site C hydroelectric power station near Fort St. John, BC.

This role will be assigned to the Stanley Park project in British Columbia, and the successful candidate must be willing and able to relocate for the duration of the project.

Our seasoned team of engineers, project managers, and specialists also contribute to wind farm and hydroelectric projects such as dams, power stations, tunnels, and dikes. EBC is recognized as a true leader in this sector.

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of survey requirements for construction activities.

  • Select, maintain, and calibrate survey equipment and ensure proper use on site.

  • Develop clear, comprehensive, and comprehensible Survey Methodologies to guide project execution.

  • Maintain accurate survey records, documentation, and stamped submittals.

  • Provide layout at various stages of construction and oversee as-built documentation.

  • Organize and manage the activities of the survey department, assigning personnel and resources as needed.

  • Manage as-built data and digital records to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Ensure completion of ground, surface, and office surveys in line with project requirements.

  • Oversee high-precision engineering-grade construction activities.

  • Process survey data, perform calculations, and resolve field or data-related issues.

  • Provide technical guidance to survey teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Conduct traverse, network, monitoring, topographical, and construction surveys.

  • Provide progress updates and field data to relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in surveying, including at least 5 years in heavy civil construction.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Experience with major infrastructure projects in urban environments.

  • Knowledge of survey practices, standards, and engineering design methods.

  • Proficiency with GPS, total stations, and tunnel guidance systems.

  • Strong knowledge of complex survey tools, data processing, and software.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Familiarity with Job Site Health and Safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, surveying, and engineering-based software.

  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • BCLS designation (or eligibility) considered a strong asset, pending client approval to have this role in-house rather than subcontracted.

  • Bilingualism is an asset; proficiency in English (written and verbal) required.

Benefits

• Competitive salary
• 4 weeks of annual vacation
• Flexible group insurance program from day one
• Group RRSP with employer contributions to a DPSP
• 24/7 access to a virtual doctor (telemedicine)
• Training and professional development programs
• Employee assistance program
• Active social club and wellness committee
• Innovative, diverse, and collaborative work environment
• Company culture based on respect, integrity, and quality workmanship
• Recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies
• Corporate clothing program upon hiring
