About the Role
A senior-level Systems Engineer – Avionics is sought to lead the definition, integration, and certification of advanced avionics architectures for hybrid eVTOL aircraft.
This role carries end-to-end responsibility for the development of mission-critical avionics systems, including navigation, communications, flight displays, sensors, and vehicle management systems. Working across hardware, software, and systems domains, you will deliver safe, reliable, and certifiable avionics solutions within a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, specification, and system integration of avionics systems, including flight control computers, communication and navigation equipment, displays, sensors, and data buses
Define avionics system requirements and interface control documents aligned with vehicle-level functions and safety objectives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support flight deck layout, human-machine interface (HMI), and pilot operational needs
Oversee integration of avionics hardware and software, ensuring redundancy, fault tolerance, and robust system behaviour
Manage supplier selection, technical oversight, and compliance with DO-254, DO-178C , and applicable aerospace standards
Support functional safety activities, including FHA, FMEA, and FTA at system and subsystem levels
Lead avionics integration activities in laboratory, ground test, and flight test environments, troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues
Contribute to certification planning and regulatory compliance with FAA, EASA, and / or TCCA , including documentation and audits
Act as a technical integrator between engineering teams and project management
Apply and enforce engineering standards, ensuring rigor, quality, schedule adherence, and budget alignment
Challenge existing approaches and introduce improvements to engineering quality, productivity, and delivery
Stay current with advancements in avionics systems, certification practices, and aerospace technologies
Drive continuous improvement of processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and system reliability
Requirements
7+ years of experience in avionics or systems engineering within aerospace or automotive environments
Demonstrated experience across multiple phases of the product lifecycle (concept, development, integration, verification, certification)
Strong background in avionics architectures, system integration, and safety-critical systems
Hands-on experience with systems engineering practices is highly desirable
Familiarity with eVTOL certification frameworks (FAA, EASA, TCCA)
Proven ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
