Senior Project Manager – Job Description
A dedicated Senior Project Manager is required to support organizational restructuring and transition activities across multiple ministries and business areas. These transitions involve structural changes to programs, services, information management processes, and executive assignments. This role focuses on analyzing, coordinating, and supporting Information Management & Technology (IMT) changes required during restructuring and transition activities. The project team has extensive experience supporting organizational transitions, ministry realignments, and election related activities. This engagement will help standardize processes, document lessons learned, and establish clear collaboration frameworks. The resource will support IMT initiatives identified through intake processes and prioritized through IMT governance, including IMT roadmap initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver IT projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines, tasks, scope, and progress tracking.
- Maintain strong working relationships with project teams, vendors, and cross departmental stakeholders.
- Provide clear, timely status updates and reporting to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop project charters and business plans aligned with strategic objectives and data integrity requirements.Manage projects that document business requirements and deliver IT solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.Prepare recommendations on resourcing, dependencies, risks, and policy impacts.Produce project deliverables for internal stakeholders and steering committees.Manage multiple projects, resources, and governance processes concurrently.Communicate effectively with project sponsors and escalate risks when necessary.Build strong client relationships and ensure ongoing stakeholder satisfaction.Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, assumptions, timelines, risks, budgets, and roles.Collaborate with sponsors to define project organization structures.Document and report progress on milestones, budgets, risks, and objectives.Create work plans, estimate resource needs, develop schedules, and initiate corrective action when required.Guide project team members on priorities and task execution.Create requirements documentation as needed.Evaluate project outcomes and identify improvements for future initiatives.Provide leadership and support to teams requiring change management or communication guidance.Work within established PMO standards or assist in defining standards where they do not exist.Mandatory Qualifications
Education
University degree in business, management, or a related field and four years of Project Management experience; ORTwo year diploma in business, management, or related field and six years of PM experience; OROne year certificate in business, management, or related field and seven years of PM experience; OREight years of Project Management experience.Work Experience Requirements
Defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders – 6 yearsDeveloping project deliverables (charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, closures) – 8 yearsManaging multiple projects concurrently – 8 yearsManaging large, complex custom software development projects (solutions developed in house) – 6 yearsSoft Skills
