Fashion Design Coordinator
Location : CHANEL Toronto Offices, ON
Reports to : Design Manager
Contract : Full-time and Temporary until September 2025
Your role @ Chanel :
Reporting to the Design Manager, the Design Coordinator will support the build of new boutiques through all phases of design, construction, and project close out. The successful candidate is a person who is energized by collaborating with internal cross functioning teams, external consultants, and key vendors daily.

Design
Support the Design Manager in leading a team of architects, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers to produce a full set of drawings for building permit, tender, construction, site instructions, and change orders.
Project Management
Send monthly status reports to global and internal teams on construction status;
Assist in managing and implementing information pertaining to store design with cross functioning teams such as visual merchandising, operations, store boutique team, information technology, security, procurement, finance, lighting, and audio visual.
Construction
Communicate with general contractors and trades while being confident and comfortable on an active construction site;
Comprehend drawings and built environments, ensuring what is built is reflective of the drawings;
Ability to flag potential issues on site and address it with the site super respectfully;
Uphold CHANEL store design brand values and design intent throughout construction.
Procurement
Request for quotes for suppliers, approve and review quotes, coordination, and arrangement of international shipments to local storage facilities in Canada;
Inspect supplied items on site to be received in good condition;
Manage working visa applications with external legal team as required;
Add new suppliers to our procurement program.
Finance
Submit purchase order requests, process invoices and track costs.
Sustainability
Support the Design Manager in leading the LEED consultant team.
What you will bring to the role :
Minimum of 5-7 years retail store design experience on client or agency side
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture is preferred. In lieu of the former degrees, on-site
luxury retail construction management experience may be acceptable
Strong comprehension of architectural and engineering drawings (required)
Confidence and practical understanding of a construction side (required)
PMP designation or LEED accreditation is as asset
Use of AutoCAD is mandatory
Use of Sketch up, Photoshop, Indesign, Ilustrator and Excel is an asset
Experience with COUPA is as asset
Ability to travel and work in Vancouver for 15% of the role. Home base in Toronto is mandatory
Ability to occasionally work early morning and evening hours at critical project milestones
