40 - Temporary Effective : March 1, 2024 June 30, 2024 We are seeking an innovative and passionate educator who embeds 21st century learning into their daily teaching practice.
Strengths in collaboration, co-planning and co-teaching in classrooms are critical, as well as the ability to improve student engagement, learning and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners in an inclusive classroom environment.
Required qualifications / skills include : a)Course work specialization and pedagogical knowledge in early literacy and numeracy and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), diversity / inclusive education, social emotional learning (SEL), self-regulation.
b)Ability to plan and design engaging learning activities using the BC curriculumc)Successful experience integrating early literacy and numeracy interventions in multi-grade classrooms to support student learning outcomesd)Exemplary use of formative assessment strategies that engage learners and deepen learninge)Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning f)Successful experience co-planning and co-teaching for student successg)Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and communityh)Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learnersi)Commitment to implementing the School Growth Plan and to collaboratively designing school and classroom learning environmentsj)Demonstrated understanding of indigenous cultures and experience integrating First Peoples Principles of Learning into teaching practicek)Excellent ability to differentiate for all learners and co-plan for diversity and engagementl)Professional learning inquiry experience that informs professional practicem)Willingness to participate in school and / or district Professional Learning Communities will be an assetn)Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programs will be an asset All applicants for this position should provide evidence of all areas of expertise or experience.
