Project Engineer

Overview

Canlin Energy iscurrently seeking a Project Engineer. This role will be responsible for leadingand delivering the successful initiation, planning, design, execution,monitoring, controlling and closure of facility and pipeline constructionprojects. Reporting to the Manager,Project Engineering and located in Calgary , this role will ensure staff andcontractors conduct their operational activities in compliance with Canlin standards,programs and government regulations and will be a key contributor in theoptimization, expansion and development of our fields.

The Role

• Design and deliver creative andpractical solutions for small to medium sized facility and pipelineprojects in a safe and efficient manner.
• Safely execute projects as perCanlin’s Project Delivery Process; implement and oversee project qualitycontrol and quality assurance.
• Assist operations staff with thetrouble-shooting process and equipment problems; manage resolution ofproject issues including identification of mitigation measures.
• Responsible for pulling together roughconcepts and defining a clear scope of work, preparing AFE quality costestimates, and ensuring projects are resourced appropriately.
• Coordinate and participate in designreviews, PHAs, 3D model reviews, construction kick-off meetings, task riskassessments and pre-start-up safety reviews.
• Review and manage drawings anddocumentation issued by third party engineering companies to confirmconformance with Canlin’s specifications and applicable codes / regulations.
• Select contractors and superviseon-site inspectors; ensure constructed works are in conformance withdesign.
• Assist Canlin’s Supply ChainManagement group with procuring equipment and project logistics.
• Manage the budget and deadlines forthe project, proactively address issues and provide regular projectupdates to key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with stakeholders such asJV, Land, Regulatory etc. to ensure project requirements are being met.
• Promote a safety leadership culture,upholding Canlin’s Engineering processes / standards and personnel andprocess Safety initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge ofcorporate and industry standards.Foster a behavior of personal development. Engage internal or external assistancewhen working outside of individuals “area of expertise”
• Demonstrate workplace safety indesign, attitude, and actions.
• Travel to field sites as required.
