General Surgeon, focus on Colorectal Surgery
Alberta Health Services - Central Zone is actively recruiting for a full time General Surgeon with a focus on Colorectal Surgery to join their team at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre
RDRHC), Red Deer, Alberta.
The candidate will offer clinical and surgical management of patients in the Central Zone with colorectal concerns, including colon and rectal cancer, as well as the full spectrum of conditions typically managed by General Surgeons, such as other malignancies, hernias,
gallbladder disease, and the like. This position allows a General Surgeon to have a specific area of focus while maintaining a wide breadth of practice.
Our current fellowship trained Colorectal Surgeon will provide support, mentoring, and will work closely with the proposed
candidate to assist in the management of these conditions, as well as provide operative mentoring in areas where further surgical experience is required.
The incumbent will provide on-call coverage to our General Surgery Acute Care Service as well as endoscopic services
to the patients in Central Zone.
Required Qualifications :
This position requires that a Physician have or obtain a license to practice as a General
Surgeon from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta as well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
Desired Qualifications :
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
In Alberta, General Surgeons typically earn approximately $583,032 annually.
Compensation is based on a fee for-service model with additional call stipends. Financial incentives such as paid travel arrangements and assistance with relocation is available.
