As a Digital Literacy Instructor, you will provide one-on-one, virtual training to Geseron Employment Consultings (GEC Ltd.) clients preparing to re-enter the workforce, skills upgrading for transitioning to a new role, or pursuing professional development. You will deliver essential digital skills instruction in a positive and supportive learning environment, using clear, structured sessions tailored to each clients needs and experience level. Your ability to explain technology with patience and clarity will help clients build the confidence and independence to navigate the challenges of personal and professional reintegration into the digital world.
Responsibilities
Manage your assigned caseload and coordinate virtual training sessions.Assess each clients digital skills and learning needs.Deliver personalized digital literacy instruction using set modules and timelines, with a focus on Computer Basics, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as Dragon Naturally Speaking.Adapt instruction and support to align with each clients learning style and level of experience, guiding them in the use of digital tools and platforms from foundational to advanced levels.Support clients upgrading digital skills for employment, internal transitions, accommodations, or general professional development.Troubleshooting basic technical issues during sessions as needed.Track client progress, engagement, and document session outcomes in line with GEC Ltd. program guidelines.Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain digital concepts clearly.Patient, empathetic, and solutions-focused approach to client interaction.Strong time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple clients and tasks simultaneously.Committed to ongoing learning and staying current with new software or tools, relevant to and incorporating into client instruction.Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to follow standard processes.Dedicated, distraction-free workspace.Reliable computer with up-to-date antivirus protection and high-speed internet.Proficient in Microsoft Office and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).Criminal record check required.Additional Information
This is a part-time position. Hours are based on client referral volume and may vary. A minimum number of hours is not guaranteed.While there may be potential for hours to increase over time, a full-time schedule is not guaranteed.Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as adult education, community services, educational assistance, social work, information technology, or a related discipline.Experience teaching or coaching digital skills, especially to adults or individuals with limited computer experience.Experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those returning to the workforce.Experience delivering one-on-one or small group instruction in virtual settings.Certification or training in digital literacy instruction, adult education, or specialized digital tools or accessibility-focused software is an asset.Wages
