We are looking for a Journeyman or 3rd Year Apprentice Welder : Trucks, Trailers & Heavy Equipment to join our Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team in the West Kootenays, just a 30 minute commute from Castlegar, BC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform welding repairs on commercial trailers, trucks and custom equipment.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine requirements.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Train and mentor apprentice welders.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
As a member of the Summit team, we expect you bring the following to the table :
- 3-4 years of experience in commercial truck and trailer welding repairs
- Red Seal Journeyman Welder ticket. 3rd Year Apprentices will also be considered.
- Ability to work independently unsupervised.
- Class 5 driver’s licence and an acceptable abstract
- Must have a full set of tooling, suitable for commercial truck and trailer repairs.
- Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Strong safety mindset
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workflow in an efficient manner.
- Team player who can share their knowledge by teaching and coaching junior welders.
