Position Description

An Ecole Lac des Bois Elementary School - 0.5 FTE (Mon / Tue / every 2nd Wed.) - Gr. 4 FRIMM - Limited Duration Contract Teacher is required by School District No. 57 (Prince George). Applicants with assessment and trauma‑informed practice experience are preferred. Qualifications And Experience

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
• Knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
• A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
• Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and Truth & Reconciliation).
• The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.
• Successful experience integrating experiential and / or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.
• Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
• Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
• The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
• A current, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

School District No. 57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band, and the Simpcw First Nations. The district serves 41 schools : 32 elementary, 8 secondary, and 1 district learning support centre. It provides educational programs for approximately 15,000 students, including early learning, after‑school art and sports programming, trades programs, and dual credit programs with local post‑secondary institutions. The district supports Lheidli T’enneh, McLeod Lake, and Takla students living on reserve through Local Education Agreements, co‑constructing educational services for students attending schools within the district.
