Position Title : Illustration Systems Analyst
Reports To : Manager, Illustration Systems
Department : Individual Product Development & Marketing
Term : Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements : This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.
You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity : Equitable is looking for a new Illustration System Analyst to join their Illustration Systems team! Our illustration system is a complex software system developed exclusively for Equitable and is a point-of-sale requirement to be used by all producers to sell individual insurance products.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and testing of the Product Marketing Illustration System software.
This includes writing detailed calculation, user interface and report specifications for the software developers, testing all aspects of the software, ensuring data integrity, planning for implementation and providing user support.

What you will be doing :
- Assist with the development of highly technical specifications for illustration software to support new products / product enhancements that meet both the needs of the field force and the Company
- Maintain detailed calculation specifications and testing tools for life and health insurance products
- Ensure illustration software calculations are consistent with policy administration systems
- Assist with regular review of the software applications to ensure it is based on business and administration requirements
- Responsible for conducting testing of software -including system functionality, regression, calculation and installation testing
- Work with the external vendor that is responsible for illustration software development and programming changes
- Work within the software development and testing timelines of the projects with both external vendors and internal business resources
- Make recommendations for the effective design of software to support products, to meet the needs of company and field representatives while ensuring the integrity of the data
- Respond to regional and advisor inquiries regarding functionality and calculations of new business illustration software
- Attend and participate in project working group meetings
What you will bring :
- University degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics.
- 3+years of experience supporting software development and testing
- Previous knowledge of individual life & health products would be an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of MS office tools (e.g. Excel, Access)
- Strong mathematical skills, excellent analytical, organizational, time-management, problem solving skills.
- Highly self-motivated and independent , critical thinking skills.
- Intense visual / listening concentration required to trouble shoot problems and determine best solution; and to make informed decisions and recommendations
- Bilingual in French language is an asset
