Geotechnical Engineer

Together with our partner in the construction and building materials space, we are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the evaluation and application of geosynthetic and mechanically stabilized earth solutions for civil infrastructure projects. This role provides technical design support, estimates, and feasibility assessments in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

This position can be based out of Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB or Surrey, BC.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary designs for wall and slope stabilization
• Review drawings and specifications to recommend optimal geosynthetic solutions
• Complete material take-offs and cost estimates
• Provide AutoCAD details and technical support
• Utilize design software including MSEW®, ReSSA®, SLOPE/W, SLIDE, and Bluebeam
• Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and suppliers
• Support research into new technologies and environmental considerations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with geosynthetics and/or retained wall systems preferred
• P.Eng., C.E.T., or PMP considered an asset
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Work Environment

• Office-based with occasional travel
• Standard business hours with flexibility as projects require
