Project Administrator, Aquatic Sciences (Contract)

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, Aquatic Sciences, the Project Administrator, Aquatic Sciences (Contract) is responsible for supporting the Aquatic Sciences Team in the areas related to environmental compliance for water monitoring projects and regional monitoring programs, associated with Teck’s authorizations.
Key focus areas in this role are to support the administrative tasks associated with the Aquatic Sciences Team and the external technical working group, the Environmental Monitoring Committee (EMC).
This contract will expire at the end of 2024, with opportunity for extension.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong leadership, time management, interpersonal and communication skills who can work independently with little supervision.
You will be someone with excellent problem-solving skills who is detail-oriented and can multi-task competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This role's focus is supporting multiple administrative tasks, therefore excellent organizational skills are vital. This is a core function support role with an opportunity for extension.

Responsibilities :
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Act as a liaison between the EMC and technical teams, supporting effective communication
- Manage the administrative tasks of the EMC by overseeing the team in consultation with the Environmental Coordinator; handle the flow of documents and information between Teck and the EMC;
- track action items and advice and input tables; schedule and attend virtual and in-person meetings; assist in the publication of the annual public report;
assist to organize the annual public meeting; support the EMC third-party audit requirements; and assist internal staff and consultants to meet requests, commitments, and deadlines
- Implement basic project management skills related to document formatting, scheduling, reviews, and budgeting tasks
- Provide support with the Aquatic Sciences Team annual tax credit requirements
- Support internal and external SharePoint sites for the Aquatic Sciences team
Qualifications :
- Diploma or Degree in a related field such as Project Management, Administration, Science or Applied Science with relevant work experience
- Proven administrative experience including organizational and effective support for multiple environmental projects
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite®, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- An interest in the field of environment or biology is an asset
Hourly Range : $30.00 - $40.00
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
