Operator, Logging Machinery

Location & Compensation

Cold Lake, Alberta (T9M 1P4), on site
Salary : $35.00 hourly (40–60 hours per week)
Employment terms : Seasonal, full time (starts as soon as possible)

Job Details

Education : No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience : 3 years to less than 5 years

Work site environment : Outdoors, dangerous, noisy

Work conditions and physical capabilities :

Ability to work independently

Tight deadlines

Physically demanding

Attention to detail

Hand‑eye coordination

Bending, crouching, kneeling

Fast‑paced environment

Weight handling : Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Own tools / equipment :

Safety equipment / gear, steel‑toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses / goggles, gloves, ear plugs, safety vest

Personal suitability :

Responsibilities

Assist other logging workers

Remove debris from logging site landing area

Certificates, Licences & Courses

First Aid Certificate

WHMIS Certificate

Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate

Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate

Types of Harvesting & Logging

Pulpwood harvesting

Clear cutting (patch logging), salvage logging
