Operator, Logging Machinery

Location & Compensation

  • Cold Lake, Alberta (T9M 1P4), on site
  • Salary : $35.00 hourly (40–60 hours per week)
  • Employment terms : Seasonal, full time (starts as soon as possible)

Job Details

  • Education : No degree, certificate or diploma
  • Experience : 3 years to less than 5 years
  • Work site environment : Outdoors, dangerous, noisy

    • Work conditions and physical capabilities :

  • Ability to work independently
  • Tight deadlines
  • Physically demanding
  • Attention to detail
  • Hand‑eye coordination
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Fast‑paced environment
  • Weight handling : Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

    • Own tools / equipment :

  • Safety equipment / gear, steel‑toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses / goggles, gloves, ear plugs, safety vest

    • Personal suitability :

  • Accurate, excellent oral communication, judgement, organized, team player, flexibility, dependability, reliability

    • Responsibilities

  • Assist other logging workers
  • Remove debris from logging site landing area

    • Certificates, Licences & Courses

  • First Aid Certificate
  • WHMIS Certificate
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate

    • Types of Harvesting & Logging

  • Pulpwood harvesting
  • Clear cutting (patch logging), salvage logging

    • Equipment & Machinery Experience

  • Grapple
  • Skidder

    • Security and Safety Requirements

  • Driver's validity licence check
  • Drug test
