From this perspective, special education is not ''special'' but is effective teaching that benefits all the students in the class.

It focuses on adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of the students in the class. The course will concentrate on how instructional assessment can be used to calibrate instruction to meet the needs of individual students, how to accommodate learner differences and how to collaborate with other professionals to meet the provincial requirements for inclusion of students in teaching, programming and assessment.
