BI and Data Analytics Analyst

Overview

Our client is a growing public oil & gas company based in Calgary. Currently there is a need to add a Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Analyst to the team. This is a permanent position, created from recent growth and reports directly to the VP Operations.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical models, working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data‑driven solutions. The successful will report to and work closely with the VP, Operations. Specific duties include :

• Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights
• Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and KPIs
• Support strategic and operational decision‑making through data analysis
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and systems
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams
• Develop and document data models, metrics, and reporting standards
• Perform ad hoc analysis and present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences
• Identify opportunities to improve data processes, automation, and reporting efficiency
